The active multicontour seat enables a particularly precise adjustment to individual seating needs. It can continuously adjust itself to the current driving situation, massage the back muscles and reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

Depending on the steering angle, lateral acceleration and speed the air cushions in the seat side bolsters are tightened pneumatically in two stages such that optimum lateral support is guaranteed even when the driver is employing a very dynamic driving style. After the dynamic function is switched off the previously selected pressure in the side chambers are automatically reset symmetrically.

The ambient lighting provides a pleasant indirect lighting effect inside the vehicle both at night and during the day, too.Luminous surfaces on the instrument panel and under the door trim elements create an incomparable atmosphere.

In addition, fibre-optic cables and LEDs which are controlled independently of the background light make it easier to find your way around the vehicle when it's dark outside. Exclusive ambient lighting, which can be dimmed to any level and has the three colour schemes of "solar" (amber-coloured), "neutral" (white) and "polar" (ice blue), emphasises the interior design to ensure pleasant light conditions for night driving.

The EASY-PACK tailgate makes loading easier and enables comfortable access to the luggage compartment.

If the vehicle is to be loaded from the rear, the EASY-PACK tailgate can be opened automatically with the vehicle key or by pressing the handle. The closing procedure is likewise initiated with the electronic vehicle key or by pressing on the respective button on the inside of the tailgate, which can then be halted at any given position, for instance, in order to avoid making contact with a low garage roof. If an obstruction hinders the closing procedure, this is immediately halted automatically.

The EASY-PACK quickfold rear seat backrests make possible an individual extension of the load capacity by folding down the backrestsThe rear seat is split 1/3 : 2/3, and each section can be folded down separately.

Thus, folding down the seat cushions and backrests offers an individual extension of the loading capacity. It is not necessary to remove the head restraints before folding down the backrests. The backrests are released via release handles accessed from the luggage compartment. The load-securing rings in the luggage compartment are particularly suitable for transporting items when the rear bench seat is folded down.

THERMATIC automatic climate control delivers individual temperatures and a pleasant climate in the vehicle interior.

The desired temperature and air distribution can be separately regulated for the two zones for the left and right-hand sides of the interior. In addition, a special filter ensures optimum air quality by absorbing dust particles from the outside air.

The THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control system allows the driver and passenger to adapt the climate in their respective seats to suit their individual requirements – independently of each other. The system keeps the temperature at the desired level automatically, even in strong sunlight. To this end, sensors register the temperature inside and outside the vehicle, controlling the heating, cooling and fan for each temperature zone individually, according to requirements.

The EASY-PACK load-compartment management system FIXKIT consists of the EASY-PACK loading rails and the EASY-PACK load sill guard. These features ensure secure loads and enhance protection when loading and unloading.

The telescopic bar and cargo rails can divide the load compartment into variable zones. Bulky objects can be secured to the sides of the luggage compartment using the retractable load-restraining belt.

The EASY-PACK intelligent load-compartment management system FIXKIT ensures that everything stays secure in the load compartment. When loading and unloading the load compartment, the EASY-PACK rear sill protector included in this package can be placed over the bumper to protect the loading area from scratches and other damage.

With the memory package the driver’s and front-passenger seats and head restraints, steering column and exterior mirrors can be adjusted electrically to any position. This increases convenience when there is a frequent change of drivers. The individual front seat settings for up to three people can be stored and recalled at any time.

When the driver selects a setting, electric controls automatically adjust the seat, exterior mirror and steering column positions to stored settings.

The 4-way lumbar support provides even more comfort. At the push of a button, the backrest curvature of the front seats can be set to meet individual passenger requirements and provide anatomically ergonomic support for the spine in the lumbar area.

When reversing, the driver has an improved view thanks to the automatic tilt function for the front-passenger exterior mirror.

The activation of PRE-SAFE®, also a part of the package, the PRE-SAFE® positioning function can automatically move the passenger seat into a position ("safety position") which is more favourable in the event of a collision.

The multifunction steering wheel features a steering wheel heating system that heats it to 35 ºC, gearshift paddles to manually operate the transmission's gears and 12 function buttons for operating the display menus in the instrument cluster, and for controlling the radio volume.

The steering wheel heating is switched on with a rotary switch on the multifunction steering wheel. A heat mat inside the multifunction steering wheel heats up the steering wheel rim to a temperature of 37 ºC, and then goes into control mode. The temperature then oscillates between 34 ºC and 38 ºC. If the steering wheel heating is no longer needed, it can be actively switched off.

The Multicontour Seats take pressure off the spine and can be precisely adjusted to the ergonomic characteristics of the driver and front passenger. The pressure can also be adjusted in the variable air cushions of the seat side bolsters, the backrests and curvature of the lumbar area. The controls are located on the side next to the cushions between the seat surface and centre console.

The package also includes the PRE-SAFE® positioning function, which enables preventive protection measures for driver and front passenger. If PRE-SAFE® detects a critical situation, the side bolsters of the backrest are inflated, securing driver and passenger in place sidewards. If a collision is avoided, the multicontour seats are deflated again once certain critical thresholds are undercut.

The multicontour seat package also includes the NECK-PRO luxury head restraints.

The electric front seat heating heats cold seats immediately, even before the car's heating system makes itself felt, enhancing the occupants' comfort on cold days and enabling the separate heating of each front seat to three different heating levels.

The push-button switch control for each seat can be set to normal or rapid heating. In the rapid heating setting, the system automatically changes to "normal" mode after approx. 5 minutes. The seat heating is automatically switched off completely after around 30 minutes. It can be also be switched off earlier than this manuallySeat heating is also switched off automatically if the battery charge is too low.

The electric seat heating in the rear allows for multi-level individual heating of the outer rear seats. The rocker switch or pushbutton control for each seat can be set to normal or rapid heating.

The climatised seats improve ride comfort and reduce transpiration thanks to a pleasant air flow and selectable seat heating. Fans integrated in the seat upholstery uniformly distribute a flow of air in three intensity levels under the leather backrest and cushion covers.

The air flows through the fine perforation and quickly cools down the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature – even if the vehicle has been heated by an intense amount of sunlight for a longer period of time. On cold days you can use the three-level adjustable seat heating.

Even on frosty days the auxiliary heater provides pleasant temperatures and removes ice from the windows even before your journey begins. The heater has an output of five kilowatts and functions independently of the engine. It can be activated with a switch in the vehicle, by remote control from a distance of up to 300 metres or using a timer function.
