Exterior – stunning at first sight From the bonnet to the rear apron in diffusor look. The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake impresses with its hallmark, energetically expressive, AMG aura. This vehicle combines the elegance of a shooting brake with the design of a sports car. Powerfully expressive design: the independent, broad front wings, the radiator grille with a single louvre and the striking AMG front apron together with the AMG-specific rear apron in diffuser look all spell pure energy. An exclusive note: All this momentum is underscored by the titanium-grey-painted, high-sheen 3-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels and the AMG sports exhaust system with two chromed twin tailpipes. Dynamic details: The innovative LED high performance headlamps and the AMG-specific LED daytime running lamps integrated in the outer cooling air vents combine to an expressive image of dashing dynamism.
Interior – custom-designed dynamism One look at the interior of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake is all it takes to realise what the Mercedes-AMG experts mean by "custom-designed dynamism", for the interior is an exciting blend of fine materials, refined craftsmanship and consistently sporty design. Full control: At the heart of the cockpit is the AMG DRIVE UNIT with E-SELECT selector lever, which can be used for individual control of transmission modes, ESP® functions and suspension setups. Above this is the new AMG Performance 3-spoke steering wheel with flattened top and bottom sections, equipped with silver-coloured aluminium shift paddles, and the AMG instrument cluster with AMG main menu including RACETIMER and AMG start-up display. All-round premium quality: ergonomic AMG sports seats in nappa leather, brushed stainless steel for the AMG door sill panels and the AMG sports pedals, which also feature non-slip rubber studs. For the sporting eye: Black piano lacquer trim and an analogue clock in exclusive IWC design complete the impression of style-conscious sportiness.
Technology – motorsport technology for everyday use The new AMG V8 biturbo engine is a compelling proposition thanks to its exciting dynamism as well as its efficiency, which is quite extraordinary for a vehicle in this performance class. Ample power reserves: As you would expect of a Mercedes-AMG, with the optional AMG Performance Package it can deliver a rated output of up to 386 kW[2] and torque of 700 Nm, creating a characteristically powerful sound in the process. Efficient sportiness: Fuel consumption is low for a vehicle in this performance class. This is made possible by features including direct petrol injection with spray-guided combustion, twin turbochargers, alternator management, and the Controlled Efficiency drive program incorporating a stop/start function. Imperceptible gearshifts: The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission delivers impressive results thanks to the sporty, direct and agile response of manual transmission combined with the comfort and ease of operation of an automatic transmission. In addition to the Race Start function and automatic double-declutching, the sports transmission also offers four individual drive programs ranging from energy-efficient to sporty. Gear changes in less than 100 ms are possible.
