Progressive design and innovative technology.The new CLA offers both. The TFT media display is at the centre of the innovative multimedia and navigation systems. At the touch of a button the new CLA provides optimal connections to smartphones or other items of equipment and thus to the world of the internet.
With the optional Drive Kit Plus for the iPhone® your iPhone® 4/4S becomes comprehensively integrated in the new CLA. The relevant Digital DriveStyle app is available free of charge at the iTunes® App Store. This gives you access to the contents of your iPhone® through the Audio 20 CD system and COMAND Online: you can view them on the vehicle's display screen and access them safely and conveniently using the controller on the centre armrest.

Audio 20 CD The Audio 20 CD system provides entertainment while driving and can be optionally equipped with the Becker® MAP PILOT navigation system and an integrated CD changer for 6 discs. Becker® MAP PILOT (optional) With the Becker® MAP PILOT it is possible to upgrade the Audio 20 CD radio, fitted as standard, to a full-function navigation system. The control unit can be secured and connected in the glove compartment in just a couple of simple steps, and can be removed at any time. COMAND Online (optional) The COMAND Online multimedia system is the highlight of the new telematics generation. This innovative system features an Internet browser, combines all audio, telephone and navigation functions and also includes the Speed Limit Assist function. The optimised control concept makes operation more user-friendly and intelligent than ever before. Components of the COMAND Online multimedia system: Free navigation updates for 3 years (from initial registration, specific to vehicle) 80 gigabyte hard disc (HDD) Bluetooth® connectivity Digital Owner's Manual Combined DVD/CD drive and separate SD memory card slot (6-disc DVD-changer available as an optional extra) Integrated 12-button keypad on head unit Internet browser for free browsing (when vehicle is stationary) and display of Mercedes-Benz apps (weather, POI search via Google including Google street view and panoramio, downloading of routes using Google, Facebook, news), also while driving Mercedes-Benz emergency call system (automatic and manual) Music Register with 10 gigabyte storage space for digital music (MP3/WMA/AAC) RDS/ twin tuner + TMC tuner and traffic information decoder (TP/TA), automatic tailback avoidance (TMC Pro), LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system for audio, telephone and navigation functions 17.8 centimetre TFT colour display USB slot in the centre armrest Central controller in the centre console Speed Limit Assist uses an integrated camera to identify the speed limits on road signs and show the permitted maximum speed on the central display. The system also compares identified speed limits against the data stored in the navigation system. In order to establish an internet connection, an internet-capable mobile phone with Bluetooth® interface is required.
Digital radio (DAB) (optional) The digital radio (DAB) receives terrestrial digital radio stations via a roof aerial. This gives the user better reception quality, a larger choice of stations and more precise information. Switching between analogue and digital reception is automatic, according to signal strength. The DAB tuner supports not only DAB signals but also the DAB+ and DMB audio signals.
Drive Kit Plus for iPhone®, for the integration of an iPhone® 4/4S The Drive Kit Plus for the iPhone® connects your iPhone® 4 or 4S to your CLA Coupé, providing a new user interface with a revolutionary graphic design and clear, red illuminated symbols. Available free of charge from the iTunes® store, the Digital DriveStyle app allows you to access key content on your iPhone® safely when driving. Easily visible on your COMAND Online or Audio 20 CD display, the app is straightforward to operate using the controller on the centre armrest. With a flat menu structure and magnified view to suit the vehicle, content is divided into "Social", "Media" and "Places" categories for quick access to functions. There is an interface in the glove compartment for connecting and charging your iPhone®. Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround-sound system (optional) The Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound system with Dolby Digital 5.1 and an output of 450 watts turns every journey into an acoustic experience. 12 high-performance speakers, the Harman Kardon® multi-channel DSP amplifier and the Logic 7® multi-channel surround sound technology provide an impressive three-dimensional sound impression. The automatic volume control adapts the sound in line with the car’s current speed.
Convenience Telephony (optional) All you need for convenience telephony is the Mercedes-Benz head unit with screen, a compatible mobile phone and the right cradle to connect your phone to the exterior aerial via a fixed interface in the centre console. The system offers extensive opportunities to use virtually the full range of telephone functions by networking it with the telephone control unit, the audio device installed, the loudspeakers and the aerial. It is operated and displayed via the hands-free system, the multifunction steering wheel, the multifunction display and (in conjunction with the optional COMAND Online system) the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system. In addition, the telephone is charged while in the cradle.
Media Interface (optional) The optimised Media Interface, including the consumer cable kit, provides a solution for connecting portable media players in the centre console which cannot be connected via the standard USB mass storage device. This includes the iPod® und iPhone® as well as media players with Media Transfer Protocol (MTP), for example, from Creative, Philips, Sandisk, Samsung or Sony. The system makes it easy to read additional information such as track title, album, artist etc. (where available) on the vehicle's main display. Once the portable media player has been connected, the following functions are available: All audio tracks can be played (DRM-protected tracks only off the iPod®) Videos can played off the iPod® and iPhone® Album selection via Cover Art (only in conjunction with COMAND Online) Album cover for track currently playing displayed, if available Artist, title and album name for the track currently playing displayed (if available as an ID3 tag in the audio file) plus status of track Selection from category lists Random playback possible (title, medium mix) Charging function Last-mode function: When the engine starts, the track starts at the same point it was at when turned off. Travel and restaurant guide (optional) The digital ViaMichelin travel guide, which includes the ViaMichelin restaurant guide, is an optional extra for the COMAND Online multimedia system. It covers 36 European countries and is available in five languages. The guide provides extensive information on restaurants, hotels, attractions and tourist routes. The search function makes it easy and quick to locate points of interest nearby or at the destination. Grading symbols help the user to select restaurants, hotels, points of interest and tourist routes. The software also provides other multimedia information (audio files, images and texts) on the ViaMichelin POIs. The travel guide contents can be updated free of charge via the Mercedes-Benz portal.
Bluetooth® phone module (SAP profile) in the armrest for telephony/internet connectivity, with separate SIM card reader (optional) Excellent reception quality, a permanent supply of power and easy operation of the mobile phone through the multifunction steering wheel – the benefits are obvious. The Bluetooth® telephone module with SAP profile is a quick, easy and convenient way to connect any Mercedes-Benz approved mobile phone that can access the Bluetooth® standard SAP (SIM Access Profile) with the vehicle.Direct operation is also possible, by inserting the SIM card into the built-in SIM card reader.
